Masterchef judge and hospitality mogul George Calombaris has been fined after an investigation found his restaurant empire underpaid hundreds of Melbourne staff by a total of almost $8 million.
In a deal struck with the Fair Work Ombudsman, Calombaris admitted to underpaying 515 of his former and current staff a total of $7.83 million.
The Fair Work Ombudsman confirmed money owed has been back-paid to employees that were short-changed between 2011 and 2017.
