Landlords demand action as waste stockpiles in warehouses

Thousands of tonnes of recycling is set to be dumped in landfill, despite residents separating the rubbish and paying their council rates.
Failed recycler SKM went bust last month, leaving tonnes of household recycling stockpiled across Melbourne.
Carly Whitington is a landlord at one of the warehouses piled sky-high with recycling waste.

"We don't want it to end up in landfill, we want the right thing done. We pay or taxes and we want the right thing done," she told A Current Affair.

One Melbourne storage yard owner, whose lot is filled with 10,000 tonnes of recycling waste, said the issue should have been addressed earlier.
