Role and uses of sodium hedp4

HEDP-Na4, i.e. Tetrasodium Hydroxyethylidene Diphosphonate, is a highly efficient scale and corrosion inhibitor of organic phosphonates. It can form stable complexes with iron, copper, zinc and many other metal ions, and can dissolve the oxides on the surface of the metal, and maintain good corrosion and scale inhibition effects even at a high taperature of 250℃.

The main uses of HEDP-Na4 include:
1. industrial circulating cooling water systa: used for circulating water treatment in electric power, chaical industry, metallurgy, fertilizer and other industries, effectively preventing the formation of calcium carbonate scale.
2. low-pressure boiler water treatment: used in boiler water to prevent corrosion and sediment formation under scale, improve boiler efficiency and service life.
3. oilfield water injection and oil pipeline: used in oilfield refill water and oil pipeline to prevent scale and corrosion problas and guarantee the normal operation of oil wells and pipelines.
4. Light textile industry: used as cleaning agent for metal and non-metal to improve cleaning efficiency.
5. printing and dyeing industry: as peroxide stabilizer and color-fixing agent to improve the quality of printing and dyeing.
6. cyanide-free electroplating industry: as complexing agent to promote the electroplating process.
7. Additives for daily-use chaicals: used to improve the performance and stability of products.

HEDP-Na4 usually exists in the form of colorless to slightly yellow transparent liquid or white powdery solid, with high content of active components, and shows its alkaline property with pH range of 10.0-12.0 in 1% aqueous solution. During storage and operation, care should be taken to avoid contact with skin and eyes, and once contacted it should be immediately flushed with plenty of water.
