Following the departure of Martin Larsson has left Fnatic, G2 Esports has brought aboard veteran bot-laner Martin "Rekkles" Larsson.

After the announcement of Perkz's move to Cloud9, G2 has now completed their League of Legends LEC Team for 2021.

G2's LEC roster remains largely unchanged. It is comprised of Wunder, Jankos, Caps and Mikyx. After joining G2, Rekkles will now join forces with the former Fnatic player Caps.

The announcement has been rumored for a while. Bloop from Esportmaniacos reported that Rekkles may have been looking to explore his options. Later, Rekkles finally announced that Rekkles had signed with G2 before the announcement went live.

"My goal has always been to prove that I am among the most successful players in the game, and despite having 4 EU titles and a Worlds silver medal, I'm not satisfied," Rekkles said.

"This is the reason I signed up with G2. They're a great company and a great brand. For them, winning Worlds is just as important for me. It was easy for me to accept their invitation to join.

"I am incredibly excited for this chance and I am looking forward to seeing what we can accomplish."

At times, he would carry them or display an ability that was distinct from his peers. I'm not suggesting that Fnatic are bad, by any means, I'm just saying I felt like Rekkles was a bit different to his teammates and sometimes there was no unity present. He was patient and had a coherence that they did not. This is my opinion.
