On March 25, Joe won not one, but two $1 million Powerball prizes on the same day!
He purchased both tickets on Lake Avenue in Pueblo - one from 7-Eleven at 926 Lake Avenue, and the other at the Loaf and Jug at 2050 Lake Avenue. Joe purchased one ticket in the morning and the second in the evening, said Meghan Dougherty, the Colorado Lottery’s Communications Director.Joe stopped by the Colorado Lottery drive-through claim center recently to collect his prize. Lottery offices are closed during the coronavirus outbreak, so the lottery has set up a touch-free claims window to safely process high-value winning tickets.
The staff asked what Joe and his wife planned to do with the prize money. "The Boss has plans for it," Joe replied with a smile.
The lottery closed its offices to combat the spread of COVID-19 after Gov. Jared Polis announced a stay-at-home order statewide. They will remain closed until further notice.
The lottery then received approval earlier in April to process claims of $10,000 or more at its new touchless, drive-through window in Pueblo.
This option is available by appointment only - winners will need to call the lottery at 1-800-999-2959 to schedule a time to redeem their tickets.
