My mom was visiting recently and during our mother-daughter shopping time I discovered something interesting. But, the-way by which they did this made an impact within my answer. I said NO to the vast majority of them because they just didn't allow it to be alluring for me. But one store specifically got me. Firstly, it was a designer clothing store I loved. Secondly, they did not ask me if I wished to be on the subscriber list. They asked me becoming a 'VIP Client.'

Say what 'VIP' if you ask me and my ears improve. I-t naturally stands for 'extremely important person.' And in general it implies a level of respect and benefit. Suddenly I NEEDED to become on that email list, especially when the salesman told me it came with specific benefits, such as early notice on an individual purchasing service, new arrivals, and private trunk shows.

And guess what happens? I'd have even paid to engage in that - to be seen as a VIP.

I discuss this not to impress you, but to impress upon you that in YOUR market (yes, *yours*) there IS a portion of folks who will gladly spend MORE - much more - for a greater level of support or treatment. Remember, you're not trying to please EVERYONE, just the select few who is able to afford that amount of support.

So now, take a second or two and consider tips on how to start your personal 'country club' for the clients and customers. Whether it's a VIP degree of service or a private client group that meets a few times a year.
