Best Selling Album of Michael Jackson
It's hard to imagine Michael Jackson ever putting out an album that didn't sell millions of copies, but Thriller was the one that everyone seemed to love the most. Thriller was Jackson's sixth studio album. It was released by Epic Records on November 30, 1982.
Jackson reportedly wanted to create an album in which every song was a "killer," and the album's iconic sound was a mix of pop, disco, funk, R&B, and rock.
The album spent 37 weeks at the number one spot on the US Billboard chart. All seven singles reached the top ten on the US Billboard hot 100 charts, setting the record for the most top 10 singles from one album.
By the end of 1983, the album sold 32 million copies worldwide, making it the best-selling album of all time as well as the best-selling album of 1983 worldwide. It was also the first album in the United States to become the best-selling album for two years.
