Brooklyn New York is one of the most diverse cities in America. The linguistic diversity of Brooklyn is reflected in the wide variety of languages spoken in the city, with 54.1% of residents ages 5 and over reporting speaking English as their primary language, and smaller percentages speaking Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Yiddish, French Creole, Polish, Italian, and other languages.
