Unilever acquired the Lipton manufacturer slowly and over a lengthy period of time. Unilever continues equally to obtain new brands through purchase of tea organizations, and to present new brands of tea developed below its corporate guidance. Among the manufacturers developed by Unilever is Fable Tea, promoted in Poland. In 1996, Unilever obtained Lyons tea, a major Irish brand of tea.
