My name is Kamal Mohammad the owner of Quality properties of Northwest Florida LLC, I’m a local real estate investor in Pensacola, Florida. I have been in the business for over 10 years, I have rental properties and I flip houses as well, I was a tenant once, I bought my first personal house in January 2006, based on the year you’re probably already know that I paid too much for it lol, before I bought my first house I always thought that having my own house would be my biggest investment, but the recession we had in 2008 proved me that I was wrong, and not only because the houses went way down after the recession and we lost money!, but also because owning your own house could be in some cases the biggest liability you could ever have!, taxes, insurance and last but not least the maintenance and big surprises with heavy expenses that comes along the way and cause you to loose your shirt on it, like changing the roof because the roof is leaking, replacing air condition unit, plumbing or electric problems etc.. my rentals are assets because I have income coming from them but my personal house is a liability because it cost me money to keep it!
