![]() Secret Marketing Strategies Exposed!
by Larry Dotson The following article includes five secret marketing strategies. The most important thing is to study each marketing strategy with an open mind. The more you understand about any strategy, the more useful and beneficial it will be. A careful reading of these strategies could really make a big difference in your profits.
1. The "Sell And Raise" Strategy
The "make at least (no.) affiliate sales and I'll add another $(no.) commission to each sale..." strategy tells your prospects that they can make a higher commission rate if they reach your sales goal. It will really motivate them to promote your affiliate program and give them something to strive for.
2. The "Reader Warning" Strategy
The "warning: just reading this letter could give you (a physical reaction)..." strategy tells your prospects that reading your sales letter could give them chills down their spine, goose bumps, the shakes, etc. People will want to read it to see what type of information could possibly do this to them.
3. The "Negotiation" Strategy
The "after hours of negotiating I finally talked (business person's name) into giving you a special deal..." strategy tells your prospects you gave up a lot of your personal time to get them a discount. They will appreciate that and likely respond to the time you gave up to save them some money.
4. The "Beta Version" Strategy
The "if you order the beta version now, you will get a (no.)% discount..." strategy tells your prospects they will get a copy of your product that might contain a few bugs but will be cheaper. You could always tell them they will get the final version of your product when it's complete.
5. The "Do The Math" Strategy
The "quality product + affordable price = great value..." strategy tells your prospects a single math equation that will help them understand just how good of a deal you are offering. Sometimes presenting your offer as something other than a normal sales pitch will persuade them to buy.
I hope that reading all five of these strategies was both educational and inspiring for you. The day will come when one or more of these strategies will have a beneficial impact on your business.
Keep in mind that marketing can change over time, so be sure you keep up to date with the latest marketing strategies. The more you know about marketing, the more successful you will become. -----

10 Lessons for Every Affiliate.
1) Find a local company that rents and sets up booths. Print the signs and get them to the set-up crew on time. We arrived to a totally set up booth. It costs a bit more, but I couldn't stand the hassle of shipping and assembling a booth, like so many others were doing. 2) Skip the talks/presentations. At least at this show, they were consistently disappointing. Intriguing titles/descriptions, but disappointing content. Your time is much better spent at the booth and working the room. (The only reason I can think of for going is to meet the presenter after the talk.) -----SIDEBAR----- And don't get me wrong -- all in all, this show more It was worth every penny. 3) Have at least two people at the booth. It's terrible to lose a visitor because the only presenter is occupied. Also, the reverse -- when it's quiet, both should stand in front of the booth and look busy and talk to folks as they pass by. And that brings me to... 4) No chairs. Some booths had 3-4 presenters, all sitting down while folks walked by! 5) Keep your signs and white papers super-simple. Naturally, have a plan, too. Know how to prioritize visitors to your booth, and know how you want to expand upon your basic message. Get the business card. Speaking of a plan... 6) Ask folks what they do immediately. Our target market was affiliate managers. They are the folks we spent time with. Secondary target was super-affiliates, who attend this. And we had solid interest from them, too. 7) Work the exhibition hall -- we talked to every company with a booth that fit our target. And bring only people who can represent your company with knowledge, charm and authority. I met some real dingbats, I can tell you -- but our team was absolutely awesome. I was proud to work with them and listen to them talk about SBI!. 8 ) Skip the "business card bingos" and fast networking stuff -- all you end up with is a bunch of cards. On the other hand, go to mixers that encourage prolonged exchanges -- if you plan and prioritize well, you can make several good contacts. 9) Find out exactly what will happen at the dinners. If it's not going to help your business, it's better to go out with your own team. Others may disagree with this one, but I feel that there was plenty of time to network at the show. Spend some "quiet social time" with your own team. 10) The most important one? I think we had a good show. But the proof will be in the pudding. It's all in the follow-up. Anyway, as a "first-timer" to a show like this, I'd love to hear your opinions and lessons that you may have learned doing shows like this.
