1. Beading Jewelery & Design Making
Once you mastered the basic skills, then the possibilities to channel your creative skills are endless. No need to purchase complicated or expensive tools and you do not need to setup a full workshop. In fact you can be making your own pieces at your dinner table. Many of our previous students have found a new interest and a new career path or business opportunities and ideas, following our courses.
2. Silver Clay & Design Making Course Using this exciting fine silver clay material to make jewellery, you will learn the techniques to model it, sculpt, texture, pierce, stamp, engrave, cut or tear, join or assemble separate pieces of it, then texture and fire it. PMC3 can even set stones or can be oxidized. Finally you can choose mat finish or burnishing to high gloss finish.
By the end of the course and following our projects you will have finished ready to wear Jewellery pieces. You can choose your own design, brooch, ring, earrings, hair pin, lucky charm, pendant, silver bead etc.
The course will teach you how to use effectively the various silver clay products, the clay type, the silver paste type, the silver clay syringe type, how to use the brush, to come up with fascinating designs and jewellery.You will be learning how to create hollow jewellery (see earring picture above), natural forms jewellery, (see the leaf picture on the right), or other exciting projects using the brush (see the flower photo on the bottom right)
In jewellery making (Silversmithing) you will develop skills used by traditional jewellers, such as filing, sawing, forming the metal, soldering etc. All the primary traditional fine hand skills and techniques are covered, developing the technical skills through a programme of practical workshops where bench experience is gained. We use practical and simple instructions to explain the complex operation of jewellery making in easy to follow steps. Our course is intended for people who want to make a living from the craft, or as a hobby.
The course will give the student a fresh and continuous joy in producing jewellery of a high quality. However you choose to explore the art of making jewellery the important thing is to enjoy the process and the results. Whatever your approach, jewellery encompasses so many different skills and challenges, there is likely to be something for everyone.
