An Invitation to "Social Democratic Green Political Activism" | |||
|
This is an invitation to explore my writings concerning an honest and informed analysis of the Illinois Green Party that is probably extendable to most state parties in America. I do not have very pleasant things to say about the current condition of the Greens; although I still consider myself to follow the Green philosophy, which is summarized by 10 Key-values.
If you are interested about the Green Party this is certainly a site you would want to investigate. Contrary to popular misconceptions, the Greens are not entirely a leftist group that is too radical to be associated with the Democrats. The Greens are communitarians, who have progressive values, but also can be rather culturally conservative. For instance, a large number of them are Anti-choice when it comes to abortion. Also, they are very conscious about the decorum of there meetings and discussions, expecting people to capitulate to their standards of what constitutes acceptable speech and politeness.
I would hypothesize that the greens are the antithesis of the Libertarians. The Greens claim to respect diversity, but admonish those who act in manners that are not acceptable by their conventions. They are certainly not an open tent. Furthermore, they are not the haven of democracy that they proclaim to be in American politics. They possess party bosses that pretty much dominate the decision-making and so forth.
The Greens are truly a fascinating assortment of individuals who have a strange cultish quality that bares resemblance to a form of national socialism. How can they respect diversity while explicitly promoting their own universal values that they believe will reshape, dramatically, the American way of life?
My writings, however, are not entirely about the Greens. Many of my writings are demonstrative of my radical leftwing anarchistic politic leanings. I am a deconstructionist who is in the process of deconstructing the Illinois Greens.
Furthermore, as an academic, I offer philosophical analysis on a variety of issues. I am a social theorist by training.
