Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine | ||||||

 Oriental Medicine is an ancient method of
holistic healing that has been effective for over 3,000 years.
Some of the therapies include Acupuncture, Injection Therapy,
Chinese Herbal Medicine ( Internal Medicine ), Tui Na Medical Massage,
Electrical Stimulation/Anesthesia, Moxibustion, Cupping, Gua Sha,
Auricular Therapy, Qi Gong Breathing-Postures-Exercises, and Chinese
Food Therapy and Nutrition.
The most familiar therapy of Oriental Medicine
is Acupuncture. The practice of Acupuncture is based on the principle
that health is characterized by the smooth flow of Qi (bioelectrical
energy) through the organs and internal pathways called meridians.
During an Acupuncture treatment, the body
undergoes a normalizing process. The end result is a kind of
homeostasis in which the body brings about a self-regulatory effect.
This is one of the reasons that Acupuncture rarely causes side
effects. Acupuncture does not force the body to do
anything; it only assists the body into performing its normal functions.
The goal of Oriental Medicine is to balance the energy systems of the body, because balance is the ideal state of being that facilitates the natural healing process of the body.

Dr. Gold earned her Masters Degree in Oriental
Medicine, and Bachelors Degree in Professional Health Sciences at the
East West College of Natural Medicine in Sarasota, Florida; she earned
her Bachelors Degree in Natural Science & Human Health and Behavior
at The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington.
